My true blue friend, Jay has been telling me for months,"Remember to plan something good on August 8th, eight is a very lucky number in Chinese culture, and this year is 8/8/08".
So I booked my kiteboarding lesson for that day and Greg, Osa doggie and I camped down in the Aljoa trailer- Mildred, aka "Babe" and woke up to a beautiful day. Long story short, I got up on my board for the very first time and had a good long ride. It was one of the most exhilarating feelings I've ever experienced! G mastered more tricks on his board, and Osa made some friends. It was an amazing day for the three of us. I told G, "I think that was honeymoon number three for us". He agreed. I owe a ton of the credit to Sandy, my instructor. If you want to learn how to kiteboard, she is the very best. She has a way of thinking two steps ahead without giving too much information. Without her, I don't think my 8/8/08 would have been that auspicious!
