amazing peace

This past weekend, our little town of Lotus, California was graced for a third time by a visit from the Garden Shartse Tibetan Monks. We met on the banks of the American River for the ceremony, Affirming Our Commitment to the Peaceful Coexistence of All People and All Religions. Here are words that were read from a portion of Maya Angelou's poem,
 "Amazing Peace "
We, Angels and Mortals, Believers and Nonbelievers,
Look heavenward and speak the word aloud.
Peace. We look at each other, then into ourselves,
And we say without shyness or apology or hesitation:
Peace, My Brother.
Peace, My Sister.
Peace, My Soul.

Peace definition: "A state of mutual harmony between people or groups, esp. in personal relations" . Remember that peace starts with you, and with me.  I wish you peace.
